JOIN THE PACT
Getting involved starts with a commitment to the forest. Upon signing the commitment letter, you agree to join FSC and the Canopy Style Initiative in certifying your textile supply chain. Each signature is another step on the certification roadmap to FSC-certified MMCFs. Both brands and manufacturers can make a difference–brands to ensure labeling of products and manufacturers to commit to getting FSC certified.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Both brands and manufacturers can contribute to responsible forestry in their own ways by pledging to commit to simple actions.
For Brands and Retailers
Step 1
Sign the Commitment Letter:
Join the Canopy Style Initiative (if applicable)
Identify a stakeholder to represent the brand (their name and title will be featured)
Provide a logo for planned launch communications via email (link to email, fashion@fsc.org)
Step 2
Prepare to Join the Pact:
Appoint a stakeholder to review FSC launch communications
Release a public statement on the commitment by within 3 months of signing
Step 3
Label at Least One Garment Collection with the FSC Label by 2025:
Having signed the Canopy Style Initiative (if applicable)
Start sourcing FSC-certified MMCFs from FSC certified suppliers within 1 year of signing
Ensuring your suppliers have MMCFs specified in their FSC Chain of Custody certificate
For Manufacturers
Step 1
Sign the Commitment Letter:
Identify a stakeholder to represent the brand (their name and title will be featured)
Provide a logo for planned launch communications via email (link to email, fashion@fsc.org)
Step 2
Prepare to Join the Pact:
Appoint a stakeholder to review FSC launch communications
Release a public statement on the commitment by within 3 months of signing
Step 3
Get the FSC Chain-of-Custody (CoC) certification, including:
Undergoing FSC audit according to FSC Chain of Custody standard within 1 year of singing
Develop a certification roadmap and share with FSC
